World Refugee Day Event at Sze Women of Hope

In commemoration to World Refugee Day, ‘Sze Women of Hope’ hosted a event at our studio to raise more awareness on refugees in Malaysia. Local refugee organizations participated  in our event and they are, the Rohingya Women Development Network (RWDN), ELHAM and the Tanma Federation which consists of 5 groups (Ingraw, Pawghee, CWO, Kaoprise and Mangtha). Furthermore, we were joined by two representatives from the UNHCR to witness the event. Following the opening of the event, some organizations had representatives to conduct empowerment speeches. Founder and director of RWDN, Sharifah conducted a speech regarding Women refugee empowerment. Ann, owner of Happy Fluff Pet Business and business provider partner of Sze proudly shared her engagement with refugees and how it would help her business...

Pop’s Eatery feeding the Pakistani Women Refugee

Vocational training with Pakistani Woman Refugees

In collaboration with UNHCR (United Nation High Commission for Refugee) artisanal program, Sze Women of Hope was being introduced to several refugee communities in Kuala Lumpur. We recently worked with the women in the Pakistani refugee center to sew some clothings for us. By paying these women a fair trade wage, they are able to support their family. And hopefully in the future, after the training with us, they will be able to take on more sewing jobs with other businesses.
